What Lies Before

What lies behind is gone and old,

old days behind, their stories told.

What lies before is fresh and new,

new days before, new stories too.

Don’t look back, shan’t look back, to yesterdays,

my Lord’s nascent Blessing lies before on the way.

Ye eyes behold, do see His Goodness yonder before,

do persevere in thy gaze, throughout the days in store.

Do persevere. Yea, these new days before I shall one by one,

my race, for my Lord, fleet-footed run.

My Prize, I see, across the finish line,

yonder Goodness by my side, going forward throughout time.

O what lies before is so fresh, and O so new,

blessed, myriad, new days before, blessed, myriad, new stories too.

Praised be thy wonderful Name my Lord, even Goodness. Amen
