Make Haste to be Brethren

A season is given to sow and to reap,

given to all your beloved and precious sheep.

The periods and spans that outline our lives,

you preordain for good and bless from on high.

Life is but fleeting it fast slips away,

a heavenly gift is each numbered day.

Every second with breath is treasure untold,

a holy bestowment—to care, others to hold.

Even as we do one to another we do unto you,

help us make haste to be brethren before our time is through.

For you abide in our midst involved as a Friend,

that our spirit one to another be found holding you at our end.

Thank you for your fraternal presence great savior God…
