It happened in the early to mid-seventeenth century, in Europe, and gained momentum and spread from there ever since. A switch is what happened, from a decidedly Jesus Christ-honoring dating nomenclature to a decidedly Christless, profane one. Why? Let’s talk about it…

The switch centers on the term “Common Era,” from which is derived “Before the Common Era,” or BCE, as opposed to the quintessential Fiducial, “Before Christ,” or, BC—here on the “other end” belongs ”Anno Domini,“ or “(in the) Year of our Lord (Jesus Christ)” i.e., AD.

Jesus Christ, the bloodied, yea, resurrected and exalted Savior of humankind, humankind who, as predicted long ago, continues to reject Him and is offended by His great Name, thus offending Him, to their doom. (Note Isaiah 8:14, Luke 2:34, Matthew 10:34-39, Romans 9:33, 1Corinthians 1:23, Galatians 5:11, Philippians 2:8-11, 1Peter 2:6-7, 2Peter 3:3-4, Jude 1:4.) These verses clearly show God’s foreknowledge concerning the rejection of our Savior coming together in this “Common Era” so beloved by little, Godless man, with his puny brain, and weak arms, and huge, overweening ego (cf. Nebuchadnezzar, very typical, Daniel 4:30).
The Common Era, how revealing as to the spirit of humankind under the lead of Satan. ‘…Let’s get common, communal, social, one-worldish…’. The Common Era, hardly a fiducial—see how Satan deceives? How can anything common be trustworthy, worthy of faith, i.e., “fiducial,” even as a time stamp? Well, there it is, and we are stuck with it sad to say.
The term, the BCE, has its roots in what, can the reader guess? In academia. Academia, the veiny-brained, nay, vainly brained brain trust; we reference here the prodigious mass of Godless know-it-alls in the mix. When this crowd gets its slimy hands on something holy and lovely it immediately becomes profane and ugly as happened to our Jesus Christ -honoring fiducials BC and AD, a case in point amongst many.
If academia is at the root of the switch, and it is, so-called egalitarian societies that pay lip service to equality (and no more, usually) have been its breeding ground. Here none of the other religious belief systems must be offended by a de facto BC | AD dating nomenclature. This is consistent with the “commonality push” centered on man that accordingly stiff-arms God out, out of the picture, out of existence it presumes. In this thoroughly mundane system, no belief system is to be preferred over another, that is the crux of it. But like it or not, Christianity is in fact to be preferred over all the rest, these others are not even on the same footing owing to the excellent quality of the biblical record concerning the deity of Jesus Christ over against other claims and attendant records. It is the deity of Jesus Christ—did the reader catch that—say again, it is the deity of Jesus Christ, He, the focal point of Christianity and its very Author and Founder and Sustainer, that authenticates Christianity and puts it head and shoulders above everything else. Therefore, to cower before man for fear of repercussions stemming from exalting Jesus to the absolute pinnacle of human society in every conceivable way will fold back on the Godless bigtime, if not sooner, then for sure later—one can mark it down.
Enter now the opportunists. Cardholding “egalitarian” politicians make hay right here—not a few of whom say they are Christians! (These are the ones that pander to both sides. This is the scum settling at the bottom of the barrel.) How many Christian theologians, so-called, stuff their papers and books with BCE, and refuse to use BC | AD for fear of the repercussions by doing otherwise, i.e., fear of the personal cost and/or the cost to their sponsors and institutions, the latter’s not least coming from hypocritical, double-speak, hyper-Godless governments. There are even Christian ministers out there who have no problem skirting BC | AD in favor of the Common Era nomenclature. They are ministers of Satan preaching a “keep everybody happy” gospel which is a juicy red herring straight from hell (note again our Captain’s Word in Matthew 10:34-39). If you find yourself in such a church or ministry Christian friend, bail out and do not go back.
So we have presented a short list of Common Era weakling opportunists: professors at the seminaries, the universities, politicians, ministers, and churches, all alike refusing to espouse a BC | AD dating nomenclature, and what are we to say of them? First, they are Satan’s cronies. Next, they are accordingly very dangerous to the cause of our Savior and His people, spiritual “hitmen” if you will. Moreover, we hold that they are nothing more than cowards and outright enemies of Jesus Christ, and one can be sure that they are assaulting Him, His Name, in other ways besides this Common Era propaganda. If one does not have the courage to use BC for fear of the repercussions, it is certain that courage for Jesus is lacking in myriad other ways. But God is not mocked, if there is no courage for Jesus, one does not belong to Him, plain and simple (Matthew 7:21; and what is the will of the Father—it is this John 3:16, John 6:40, note carefully Mark 8:38; believing in Jesus is what it is all about, and to be ashamed of His Name is diametrically opposite to belief—this is not hard stuff to grasp).
It is one thing to see this nasty dating-fiducial switch happening out in profane, modern societies per se, it is to be expected, for thus it was prophesied centuries ago, but it is quite another when “Christian” seminaries and universities, and even ministries, teach this funk either outright or by espousing and ever using it. May God shut these stinkers down for being offended at the very Name they peddle to put food on their tables and money into their sacred bank accounts, yea, and if nothing else for their hypocritical and spiritually deleterious effect on their students and the people who read and/or hear their trash. If they are ashamed of the Name of Jesus Christ, anything they produce is trash, and that is putting it kindly. If such a one, institution or otherwise, proclaims Jesus’ Name out of one side of their mouth, and winks at the use of BCE in papers and whatnot out of the other, or worse, adds to that voluminous satanic propaganda to keep everybody happy and keep the cash rolling in (that God sustains them is out of the question of course), they are worthless and hypocritical and do great damage to the cause of Christ and Christians ought to take notice of who these authors and speakers and institutions are, and who espouses and sponsors them, and stop supporting them and certainly stop buying their plastic, propagandizing junk. If you are a Common Era propagandizing author or institution, and you say you are a Christian, you are not a Christian of course. Either way, enough already with the BCE hype, get off it or get out of the business. Show yourself to have some courage, and stand up for the Name of our Savior Jesus—suck it up and disdain the impending Cost—and if you cannot do that, you are not a Christian, which means you are in serious trouble, you are hell bound for sure. You will need to repent, and make a public statement to the effect that you recognize your sin, and repent. And you must do so commensurate to the damage to Jesus you have caused. Not a few of these frauds excuse their BCE love affair by recalibrating the acronym, equating it to “Before the Christian Era.” So what? Listen, it is unacceptable, because Jesus is singularly the Fiducial, and He is still missing here; this is just another slick fraud maneuver to circumvent Cost, and it is not going to work. They are without excuse except for repentance. May God reassign these cowards far out of His sight, yea, somewhere else far out of everybody’s sight and sound. And may Jehovah bare His holy and mighty right Arm and punish Satan for his evil here. Punish him Lord, let it be so, before the time, even sevenfold, amen. Why should he escape with impunity even now before the time great God?
As far as profane society per se is concerned, it will continue en masse on its foreknown Godless path unabated straight into hell. Have a blast while it lasts. But, maybe a scarce few of you have some mettle in your chest and some gray matter between your ears and will repent, that is our prayer for you—may God cause this to happen for your good (“A Letter of Invitation”).
